Raleigh used Nervex Professional Lugs on just about ALL of their reynolds 531 bikes - at one time or another. Here is my guestimate as to the times when they did this ...

Supercourse - 1970-1973 (ebay bike is a 1971/2) Competition - 1967-8, 1975 or 1976, i'm not sure. Gransport - 1970, chrome bronze/green model International - all years (?1969-1976) RRA - 1973 Professional - 1967/8, I believe Track, Team Pro - never used? does someone have a counter-example?

One of the cool things about Raleigh is that they were the ONLY maker (I believe) to EVER spec out their bikes - all the way down to what models of lugs they used !!

And nervex pro's were used on MORE RALEIGH MODELS than any other lugs!! Gosh, I'm not accustomed to thinking in those terms, thanx for bringing up your observation !!

You should not be really surprised to see these lugs on mid-end and low-end bicycles. "Back in the day", I believe nervex pro lugs were inexpensive, stamped and welded lugs. If you worked very hard to file and polish them up, they could be fantastic and beautiful lugs, but that was expensive, and straight from the box they were quite rough, and priced accordingly.
