Dear Brendan. Hi, you did not say what size rim you are looking for, but as your on this list I'm guessing it's 700c. Over the last two decades I have had great luck with the Mavic MA2. I'm a big rider, who does long road rides, and my MA2's have often outlived expensive hubs.

As far as used rims go they are almost always laced to hubs, so your most likely to going to get a complete wheel set. Even if you do find a set of rims, there are small differences in all different rims makers products, meaning that it is very unlikely that the spokes you have will fit the new rims. People who have tried this always end up at the bike shop getting new spokes. As the spokes you have are now 47 years old, I think it's time for new spokes anyway.

Also, I would take apart the hubs to see what kind of shape there in, and see if there are replacement cones out there, before I put time and money in them.

I hope your warm are dry on the east cost. We'll need our windbreakers this weekend along the Ca cost, so we can't really say we know how you feel.

Good luck with your restoration bike.
