I have one of the "A" frames. Mine has quite a bit more chrome, some of which is painted over, except for exposed dropout facings and places where I can tell there is chrome underneath, such as the fork crown area under brake bolts.
You are so right about the smoothness of the ride. A luxo-barge effect. It would be unfair to do an A to B comparison with my comfortable Ti plus carbon bike as I've never had the same wheelset on each of them, but subjectively I think the Eisentraut wins out on an imperfect pavement long ride.
