Ed Granger wrote off-list to say he thought the club cutouts appeared in the fork tangs earlier than I had guessed (76-77), and he pointed out that Eric Elman's excellent timeline concurs with this. So I checked Eric's timeline, because it's never too late to stop guessing and do some actual research :) BTW, the archive link to the timeline post is: http://search.bikelist.org/getmsg.asp?Filename=classicrendezvous.10611.0034.eml.

Sure enough, Eric's timeline indicates that the club cutouts appeared in the fork tangs as early as 73. So Roland, it looks like you have your orange Super correctly narrowed down to 73/74. And based on the tangs with two holes on my ex blue Super, it looks like it is a 72/73 rather than a 73/74.
