Biting that bullet may leave an unpleasant taste in your mouth. The only brazeon found on my Cinelli 70 is a small cable guide on the rear chain stay for the deraileur. There are no other brazeons anywhere. If you start replacing tubes after you ahae striped all the brazons off and then start the re-chroming ect etc etc the question becomes: do you have a real cineli when your done? Think twice before you give up on finding somthing closer to original. Best --Roland Porter, Hinsdale, Illinois

> Dear List,

\r?\n> I'm finally ready to bite the bullet and have my 1969 Cinelli SC re-done. The

\r?\n> bike currently sports a 20 year old repaint w/ "FlyingC" decals. The original

\r?\n> headbadge is intact. The bike also has lots of brazeons which were presumably

\r?\n> added at repaint time: top tube brake cable guides, down tube shift lever

\r?\n> bosses, water bottle brazeons (very nice w/ little stars), derailleur cable

\r?\n> guides over the bb, and the rear derailleur cable housing stop on the drive side

\r?\n> chain stay.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Question(s) 1: would ANY of these brazeons have been correct in 1969? I'm quite

\r?\n> certain that the water bottle cage brazeons are not original. If I were to

\r?\n> remove them, could the resulting holes be repaired, or would the downtube need

\r?\n> replacing?

\r?\n>

\r?\n> The original owner ordered the bike from cupertino and claims that at the time

\r?\n> he ordered it that he explicitly specified NO CHROME anywhere, which is evident

\r?\n> in the bikes current finish. I however, like the idea and am considering a

\r?\n> chrome finish for this bike's restoration.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Question(s) 2: Any opions on whether this is a good or a bad idea? Can anyone

\r?\n> please recommend an experienced and reliable bicycle plater?

\r?\n>

\r?\n> Thanks in advance,

\r?\n> Chuck Taylor
