I'm definitely in complete agreement with Gabriel. And, the brass is indeed louder and does resonate longer than the aluminum version, although the latter is a more visually subtle addition to a bike if this would be a consideration. I would also add that either can be removed from their clamp with just a flat screw driver. I drilled and tapped a hole for the brass model into the side of the quill of one of my French stems [it's okay, I have plenty] and then re-attached the bell using the original bolt and spacers (threads are M5 x .08 - like a bottle cage boss). This makes for an extremely clean looking attachment... although, not necessary at all because the heavily chromed clamp itself is beautifully finished. ~ Yes, real chrome - not plastic or cheap zinc/cadmium plated metal. The clamp size would suggest that these bells were intended either for the quill of a 22.2mm stem or a (typically narrow diameter) chromed steel handlebar, but they can certainly be fitted atop a traditional alloy bar too.
