I might have missed the first part of this. I ride fixed gear on the road (with a brake in front). I've been trying the gloved hand on tire brake method for a while. I practice so I can try it out on match sprints. I can do it,but at low speeds, good old reverse pedal pressure seems to work well. I was wondering if the hand braking was more effective at speed, like when catching a break, rather than screeching to a halt when a truck pulls out in front of you.
