Tom,

Cinelli bikes of the SC model, wheather road or track are as we

normally see them. The blades for road (oval) and track (round and

either 22mm or 24mm diameter) are different. To make a full sloping

round blade crown for internal insertion could be done; but they

didn't do it. The crowns used on Cinelli track bikes are sand cast.

The 22.2mm version looks a lot like a twin plate but it actually

isn't. The 24mm version is flat on top and quite plain most of the

time. The model SC is just a model name with certain specs. It hasn't

neccessarily to do with the fork crown. FYI, Cinelli BB shells are

65mm wide (not 70mm like Italian road) and they take the 65-P-110

spindle. The proper rear hub spacing is 110mm. The narrower BB shells

helps move the pedals inward providing more clearance on the track.

Seems all the fork crowns I have seen on Cinelli track bikes were

either conventional flat top ones or on the rarest of occasions, a twin plate

one. These track bikes are usually described as SC. Now is it the case

that on their track bikes Cinelli did not use the fully sloping crown usually associated with the SC model? From the crowns I see on Cinelli track

bikes, I would have guessed them all to be Model Bs...apparently that is not

the case.

Were there any other SC models that did not use the sloping fork crown?
