Hello All,

I'm planning a Fausto Coppi Memorial Ride and Luncheon on Saturday Jan. 5. We'll meet at Woodside School and do a 25miler and then drive or ride to Bocca de Beppo in Palo Alto for lunch. If it rains or theres a threat of rain, we'll just do lunch. All bikes from the Coppi era would be most welcome, thats any bike from the 40s-60s. If you have a period jersey, all the better. All bikes and riders are welcome of course!! You do not need to have of bike of that era to attend.

As many of you may know, Fausto Coppi died on Jan. 2 1960 of Malaria. He was misdiagnosed as having the flu. Fausto Coppi forever changed the course of cycling and gave hope thru sport to the war ravaged Italian people. Fausto Coppi would have been 87 years old if he had survived. For further reading check out THE TRUE STORY FAUSTO COPPI, by Jean-Paul Olliver and on DVD: THE FAUSTO COPPI STORY or COPPI and BARTALI THE CHALLENGE OF THE CENTURY.

I'll update with specific times in the next few days. Please email me if you're planning on attending so I can make reservations.

Regards,
Dave Martinez
