If anyone wants a Simplex SX610, which was almost the same as the SLJ, I just bought some NOS.

The Simplex SX610 is the little brother to the famous Simplex SLJ5500. The fasteners and the parallelogram arms are steel, rather than alloy, on this model. But some say that just makes it stiffer.

The SX610 also has the more advanced drop parallelogram geometry that was clearly superior to the "straight" geometry on the SLJ, yet for some reason was never promoted by Simplex. Perhaps proud old Simplex didn't want to tout an advance copied from the Japanese.

The SX610 will handle 28 tooth cogs. Use with a 7 or 8 speed chain for the ultimate performance. It is a strong and very reliable mechanism.

Also, there are some photos of our new KOF randonneur frame in the Velo Orange blog. http://velo-orange.blogspot.com/
