I have a Serotta-Murray circa 1985, which some of you may remember me riding at Cirque this summer. It is very much like the Craig's list bike, except that one has the number tab braze-on. 7-Eleven was still riding that scheme as late as '85; in '86, the bikes had painted rather than chrome forks and white fade panels on the red main color. The fork crown looks like mine as well, which has an "M" stamped on the top. A little hard to tell from the photos. Mine has a serial number starting with 4, which according to what I've been able to glean makes it likely a 1984 (can't get any info out of Serotta, despite multiple attempts). Mine is SLX with braze-on front derailleur. The Carig's list bike has a clamp-on front derailleur and I suspect is a little earlier, i.e. maybe '83-84. I have no idea if mine is an actual 7-Eleven team bike, ridden by the Junior National squad, or whatever - it's the best riding bike I own. Tight but not twitchy, with a bit of toe-clip overlap to keep my concentration sharp at stop lights. There was one on eBay recently purpored to have been ridden in the movie American Flyers as well as by 7-Eleven. That one may well have been ridden in the movie and seems to have the correct details, but I suspect was not ridden by the team, as it doesn't match any of the team bike schemes I've seen in photos or during the copious time I've already spent parked in front of the TV watching the new Coors Classic DVD.
