Subject: [CR]eBay outing: late 30's Schwinn Superior

eBay item #200061978246

Not my item. I have one of these already--see it on Wool Jersey. This is a late 30's Schwinn Superior track bike (lugless, fillet-brazed construction). Serial number is only 10 newer than mine and I have proof that mine is mid-'38. Seller is advertising it as 50's vintage. Missing seat post (26.2mm) and seat, otherwise complete with original paint and decals. Pedals look original but appears that quill ends were cut off. Has Schwinn Paramount adjustable stem. Looks like front fork is drilled for brake. Has rear caliper mounted on stays. Not sure about hubs--they are nice large flange (Harvey Sachs says they're not Paramount). Has steel rims (should be wooden). Has proper Superior cranks and Paramount chainring (although it's been painted black and is 1/2" pitch). New decals are available from Waterford. Only a 3-day listing with a very attractive Buy-it-now price.
