Subject: [CR]Legnano Q: Tipo Roma vs. Mod. Roma Olympiade

CR members refer to Tipo Romas and to Mod. Roma Olympiades. Are we talking about the same model, or different models? The Rome Olympic games were held in 1960. Clearly the Mod. Roma Olympiade had to come at that time or later. Were Tipo Romas built before 1960, or are these two Legnanos entirely different modelos? My Mod. Roma Olypiade has no letter and number serial number on the seat tube as so many other Legnanos have. Instead, it has 255 on the bottom of the bottom bracket shell. Perhaps Mod. Roma Olympiades had a separate numbering system on the bottom bracket shell. Can anyone comment. This might be one small step in clarifying the obscurities of Legnano's S/N system.
