Subject: [CR]Now for some Very Serious Swiss Steel..

Having just offered the List some exciting and very much on-topic French machines to bid for, I am certain ( I hope..) that Dale will forgive me if I transgress his on-topic rule for just a very short time to introduce to the List a superb piece of Swiss machinery..but its from the 90s I suspect.

The bike is a Toni Rominger Special built by the class Swiss builder Ferraroli, in conjunction with Toni. Only 50 were built, of which this one is No 45. Starting price with less than a day to go is 1000 euros..very cheap at the price. This machine does not have a 1.125" top-tube but it does benefit from having an oval oversized one instead. the frame appears to be immaculately built using the lugless bronze-welding technique, and the result is pure sculpture..in pearl white..poetry in motion. I think that the forks are "D" section... apopular shape with go-faster frames during the time of Indurain's reign.

Don't you just wish that you had built it?

Maybe I should just draw a bit of cash out of one of my Swiss-based offshore investments and indulge myself.

PS Apologies, Dale..but it was just too good to miss..and I promise I will do penance..
