Subject: [CR]windsor carrera sport (Mexico) ca. 1975 decals?

Hello CR group,

I bought the above indicated bicycle (25 " frame, original color red, as in Paul Grant's photo on the CR website; my SN 020222) as a sophomore in high school in 1975. I have gotten back into doing some local touring with my daughter (2.5 yrs) in tow, after quite a long layoff. I'm trying to fix it up, and most of the components look like they're in pretty good shape (crank and pedals are original, but mostly Sun Tour and DiaCompe parts now, also ca. mid-1980s, the handlebar tip shifters also gone), seems to ride pretty good too. I built Wolber wheels for it about 20 years ago and they're in great shape too.

The problem is I foolishly had the frame painted back in New Haven in 1985 or so and had the decals (both downtube and front) sanded off. I kept the lugs and forks in chrome, so the bike retains it's original look. I like the new color (midnight blue, although not original), but really should have it repainted to original red. However, I'm not going to do this unless I can find decals.

Can you get original manufacturer decals for this bicycle anywhere? Can someone send me a jpeg for a decal maker (?) to attempt to reproduce? How do I go about doing this?

I'm new to this group, so any Windsor buffs out there, please chime in!
