Subject: [CR]CR thread: shipping dimensions and a Bike Friday question

I've traveled with Singapore Airlines many times (I realize the original thread was for packaged bicycles being shipped, not for accompanied luggage; bear with me please), and the magic dimension was length-plus-height-plus-width must equal or be less than 94 inches/238 centimetres, and must not exceed 70 lbs./32 kilograms in weight.

I'm wondering if anyone has come across any new regs that specify smaller sizes? Certainly makes folders that much more attractive, if such dimensions are shrinking.

I saw one of Bike Friday's suitcase trailers last week, and I'm wondering how durable those plastic wheels are - can anyone comment? I realize this is the wrong list for such a query; forgive me this one time, as the opportunity seemed ripe.

Cheers,
