I might chip in ....
Firstly, the seat stay bridge is a different style to any that I've seen on a 35th. Production may have varied (maybe). The lining, the decals the chrome, the panto'ing and apint are all correct. I know for
the most part what separates a 35th anniversario from other standard De
Rosa's is the partly panto'd C Record gruppo, the specific paint and decals and the serial number particular to this special issue or series. Whether it Cyclart or a crack head on a street corner I think
it prescient to at least show or note the serial number if selling something as being the real McCoy or at least acknowledge it has lost
it's original gruppo bar the headset (even the stem and bar are incorrect to this particular model).
Not to cast aspersions but CyleArt restore and repaint bikes don't they
?? Where I professional outfit such as they I would fill in a few blanks that most collectors who fall into the price range offered would
be aware about and raising their eyebrows over. A serial # would be a
big start ... yes it's an easy email but really ..... ?? It's also easy to admit the parts were stripped long ago as seemingly most have
... nobody will bug for them admitting that.
I agree to question the technicality of NOS seeming the parts aren't original and it seems to have been ridden if evidenced by the fitted freewheel cogs. I could ride a frame for many, many miles and it wouldn't show any wear except for the parts ... now that the parts on
it are incorrect ..... who's to say or prove without doubt NOS? More importantly, even I can make and source those decals and had done so. I
did because I was planning to strip the paint on my 35th, paint it a different colour and then have the decals on hand if/when i decided to
go back to original. In the end I left it as is and sold it on without
murking it's history and originality. I got a great price and so would
Cyclart for theirs if they backed up their claims and filled in some blanks of question.
Again, I know this is sensitive and the seller is a list member but I
don't care if it's CyclArt or a crackhead on the street selling something, i just look for the facts. In the same it matters not who's
selling it if what I see or am being shown raises questions whilst others are unanswered. I don't think the price is unrealistic but the
marketing and validation of the product as is will ensure it remains listed for a long time .... but, it's on ebay and you never know. Now
where did I leave my glass pipe?
