It's about time I get back into the groove with the CR list. Just to let you guys know I have been very sick for the last 3 years as like one other list member has mentioned in one of his postings, I be feeling sick. since being here in SB and now being on 9 different medications, things are starting to look better, surviving on 2 to 3 hours of sleep per day for 3 plus years did take it's toll on me. One day I'm doing ok and the next 2 or 3 I'm feeling like hell, sometimes it would be an hourly swing thing. Feeling dazed and confused in a ZOMBI state really sucked.........The only ones who really knew what was going on was Cecile and my kids.........It took a toll on them as much it did on myself and I thank them for for being there for me..........With that said I'm ready to move on, lots of catching up to do...GOOD BYE HOLLAND.........HELLO...SB!....Time for a few brews and Margaritas.
A small note about our move from Holland to the US!
The last 2 weeks were wacky, not to mention the last night before we had to catch our plane. WeE prepared for our move for two years and still ran out of time. At one point our customer who requires container service gave us the option to ship or to hold until July of 2006, I said lets wait, Cecile said, lets ship!!.......Back and fourth we went, 5 days before our departure we called up a container......It arrived 2 days before our departure barely making it under the overhang by 2 centimeters. Goods were ready to load........Then came the good, BAD NEWS!.........Rental forklift is Diesel powered, great!.......This is where what good health I had went left down the tubes. Mid way through the pack a delayed shipment arrived, 10 pallets, 8 for this customer and 2.........others, bulk pack ROVAL wheelsets, now stored in Holland.........Anyway!......Darn........do we do a repack or send as is, we do the repack. Just when we thought the pack was completed a truck backed u pto our doors once again!.......What the hell is this? A shipment from ITALY Beta tools, tools boxes roll aways and so on! We we're told it wasn't going to make it in time, looks like it did, ok!.........Load it up and send as is. We finished the pack at 8:00 PM then off to dinner then back to close up a 2nd warehouse and make ready as many orders as we can that needed to be shipped from there...........Throughout the night and early morning hours Cecile was giving me 30 minute updates of the time....Right about 3:00AM Cecile was yelling......We're screwed we're not going to make it!..........Oh S%*!.....What the hell, we'll keep half of our 2nd warehouse...........Lowered the blades on the forklift and RAMMED the leftover pallets to the walls..........Piano, Campagnolo wooden shipping crates, Fiamme and Ambrossio rims boxes, BANG!...BANG!...BANG!!....to the back walls it went!...........Everything cram it in there!.........The gounds keeper, security thought we were nuts. Orders, forget this! What we can take with us we'lll just bring it along on the plane.......Dump the duffle bags with Cecile's cloths to fill with bike parts.........OK!..........6:00 AM........Time to get the kids, as we lock up the main warehouse doors, something was wrong! Like really wrong!..........Our car was to be stored in the warehouse, not going to happen...Warehouse is packed to the doors no place for the car. Forget this noise......Lets leave it!.........So we did. 7:00AM we're off to the airport. Yes we still have a lot of goods still being stored in Holland.........For starter 1000 plus framesets, 1000 plus sets of rims and so on!! It'll be fun to see it once again.
Anyway this coming weekend we have been told by many CR members that they will be dropping in for a visit!.......Anyway we'll be offering an old time ROADTRIPS offer of the past. This time we can offer off line to those who will be visiting us in Santa Barbara, or online to everybody else who may be interested. We'll have the goods laid out for everyone to see and touch!!...........Ouch!

We need to clear out some goods for incoming product, next week we'll be receiving a 20 ft container. End of August several 40ft containers of old bicycle goods will be arriving here in SB and our warehouse in Holland......Yes this is for reals and is no Joke! When all said and done looks to be 12 to 15 containers. So to say we'll be bouncing back and fourth to Europe......Someone in the past here asked about ROVAL wheelsets.....If all goes well they will be arriving with a rim and wheel only container.......sometime in August. Offering of ROVAL wheelsets will be ( Piste tubulars ) Road clinchers and tubulars in all drillings.
Looose ends, Walt.............I just found a and one only ZEUS Jersey in size 4 ( Red and white )................Like I said once I find it I'll be getting it off to you..........mail me your address. Other parts were sent out long ago. So if it didn't arrive then it probably got lost in the mail? I know that there is a few others and sooner or later we'll be taking care of these other loose ends.
Anyway it was great having some of the list members show up for our grand opening, Matt, Brian,Charles and others. It was also suprising to have several of the SB city Concil members here as well?? For sure not expected on our end.
Those who do show up this weekend and who cares to hang around a little bit longer, it'll be time for some food and drink, Saturday and Sunday........It'll be BBQ time.
