Howard sez:

I have acquired a raleigh touring bike. It uses canti brakes, Araya 27X1 1/4 wheels and first generation deore road ders. and shifter. Has front and

rear racks that look like they were specific for the bike and is marroon. The model name is obliterated on the top tube but the bike seems to be otherwise in really good shape.

What is it?

This was a Japanese model that I seem to remember having the imaginative name of Touring 14. It was a full-on touring bike complete with racks and only came in the maroon color. The year escapes me, but I sold them at Cycle World in the 77-84 timeframe.

Hope this helps.
