Dear Sam, I am no expert it says it all in my email address. From photos posted they don't tell me a lot as I can't see the lug patterns clearly enough, but at a guess from what I can see it look likes a B.A.R. Sometime ago I needed help on restoring a Bates and a smashing VCC bloke from Cambridgeshire gave me the Bates agents name. His surname is Copeland same as the guy in the "Police". He will be in the VCC Handbook I am sure. Sorry I ain't a member and I can't remember his christian name and yeah I have lost his address. Great bikes Bates they ride like modern machines shame my one was just a little bit to big and needed to much work doing, did an exchange on a TJ Flying Gate which rides as well as that old Bates.
