Looking at Dirk's link to the actual hub and parts, I see it now! The teeth
on the upper side of the dropout can roll back and forth on the toothed
axle like racks on a pinion and the axle always stays straight. Ingeneous!

Hey, it was a movie. However, still not a problem if the axle is pulled back against the adjusters (or with vertical dropouts).
