Ah, the memories!

I remember our team unwrapping the freshly-arrived-from-England Lutz order, circa 1976 or 77.

Such luxuriously rich wool fabric, dyed deep colors and beautifully thick "braided rope" style embroidery! We were in heaven!

Interesting find.

Seems to me to be exactly the same design (but in different colourway) that John Atkins wore when he was sponsored in 'Cross by Carlton Cycles in the early '70s.

Don't recall any UK domestic pro' being sponsored by Raleigh in these colours at that time, and don't remember any examples of the Raleigh jersey being available either (though the 'Carlton' version certainly was through Raleigh 5 star dealers as I recall - also manufactured by Lutz, who made most of the UK club jerseys at the time).
