I was excited to see Vic Davie's signature block with Wolverhampton mentioned. For those of you who are not familiar with the great cycling history from this city, the above links will provide a rundown. The second one in particular can be scrolled to show wonderful pictures of days gone by in the cycling industry. I suspect St. Etienne, France was similar at one time, but I can't imagine any place in the world having so many different makes with such large quantities. I know that some listmembers have been investigating the U.S. cycling industry, particularly the New York area, from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, but I haven't seen a site that captures the industry as well as the one above on Wolverhampton.
