Hi All,

I’m a newbie here, not a newbie to bikes, but newbie to the seeing bikes as something other than a simple HPV.

My first driver vintage road bike is an early 60’s Legnano Gran Premio in blue that is in very nice original condition. I am guessing it is a 63-65 model since it has lower frame rail friction shifters, rather than the early lever shifters and a Sacramento 61-65 bicycle registration sticker. This bike is a very nice driver and I have done about a hundred miles on it since I got it. I am currently looking for an original seat (don’t even know what kind it should be) and a freewheel (it currently wears a Suntour unit that doesn’t work and allows the chain to lay on the frame- no good!).

I bought my wife an Olmo Nuovo Super Sprint last month. I think it is about a 1984, not sure how to date it. The PO only knew he got it sometime in the 80’s. It is light metallic blue with chrome forks and yellow pantagraph in several places. Bike is very original and she is very happy riding it. I have no plans for it other than a seat post change and maintenance. Anyone know what Campy group it should have? The crank has a circle with a 4 in it so I know it is from ’84... still figuring out how to identify and date campy stuff.

My major restoration is a Ciocc ‘Designer 84 Microf. C. 40’ in dark blue. I bought it as a stripped bare frame (how does this happen?). I got a set of pantagraphed chrome forks out of England recently and a set of record hubs with Mavic MA40’s off ebay. I am looking for the rest of the bike, but need to figure out what Campy group it would have been delivered with- hopefully not the 50th anniversary stuff like the expensive one that sold on ebay back in October. Any input on this bike would be appreciated!

My daily driver is a Bianchi with ‘Formula‘ tubing and chrome forks pantagraphed with the Bianchi bird. Not sure of age, am guessing 80’s. Anyone know when it’s from?

I hope my newer than 83 bikes fall under the KOF classification and are OK to bring up here.

Thanks for reading my long intro,

Matt Hamilton Oakland, Ca USA
