Marty,

Freek would be the one to hold whatever perception of "mojo" his "stealth Masi" gives him.

If he holds the top tube to be holy to the whole bike, then I, as the repairman, would assay if removal of the tunnel and consequent filling, filing, and finshing of the holes would yield a top tube true enough to be worthy of top paint -- and -- would Freek be OK with that original tube with my choice of metal bits to fill the holes with?

The scraped-away paint on the seat tube that reveals that which made me "wince" is an area that I'd have to look at in the flesh, hopefully exhale, and report to Freek, "It'll be OK."

The right dropout? Starck kissed, so no original Masi mojo.

Aside from the fact that the dimensions of the frame remain unaffected, as always though, ride quality is subject to post-repair original mojo -- buy hey --like Moses transferring HIS mojo to a select 70, did not any of Faliero and Alberto's powers alight on ME during the time I built Masis on the same fixture Mario Confente did? And, I've been to the Vigorelli and back.
