mark et al yup you shld do that if ya can we all shld be doing that whenever/wherever/however possible taking the time to talk to and record any means easiest fer u any and all "old-timers" even many of yr contemporaries of course this list is very much a slice of bicycle and bicycle racing history its amazing the stories and history found here its important history and every single day we lose more of it take kc fer instance though it wasnt quite the hotbed of cycle racing as some other north american cities it does have a long cycle racing history from 1890 thru the 1980s (and once again with the start of the tour of missouri this yr and cyclocross nationals the next 2 yrs) many on this list probably raced the tour of kc in yrs past when it was a olympic qualifying event there was at least one "permenant" velodrome and possibly two "portable" ones over the yrs but other than the reference to the american royal bldg i mentioned before no one in kc that ive found knows the locations (im assuming the one at american royal was portable- as there were many other events held there) i know bits n pieces and have pals who know bits n pieces ive convinced a few to start writing some of their stories down unfortunately so much is already lost manythanks to all how have shared their knowledge here peace sarahgibsonkansacity
