Subject: [CR]Brampton-Victor fastback

Can any of you Raleighistas tell us who Brampton-Victor was (or maybe were -- if they were two), and why he/they merited the distinction of having his/their names enshrined for posterity because of that neato fastback seatstay arrangement?

I mean, we know why the sloping fork crown is called Cinelli. Other than it and the B-V fastback, can anyone think of another cycle frame styling feature that is so permanently associated with somebody's name? A somebody who we hardly know, but for the seatstay style? (The Cooper semi-fastback is rather esoteric, if not utterly anonymous, by comparison, and we know who Cooper is.)

Strange. And veddy British.

In addition to Raleigh, Cherry Cycles USA refers to B-V for their frame model which uses the arrangement.

So what is the story?
