I suppose it all comes down to things like anatomy, riding style and positioning. The all-plastic saddle was torture for me - but so is a Brooks B-17. Well, after 25 years, I can finally get a Brooks properly broken in. I much prefer things like the San Marco Concor or Rolls.

Then again, I actually wear out those saddles, because my thighs abrade the leather. The situation is exacerbated if you ride in the rain. But life is full of compromises...
