Subject: [CR]Shimano Rear Derailer Question

I'm using a Shimano 8-speed casette on my Atlantis, like it, and would equip another bike with the same. The question is: Has any one on the list used one of the newer 9 or 10-speed Shimano rear derailers with an 8-speed chain? I know that the 9/10-speed chain is narrower than the 8-speed version.
