Subject: [CR]Experience with tire rub dynamo's mounted on rear frame due to OLD Weinmann centerpull calipers

Greetings,

I see so NO rear wheel (tire rub) generators on web and B&M seem like good ones, but I'm not sure now since do not want to pioneer applications or be one of the first. I got a beautiful French wheel rub dynamo, but it felt like an 18 lb. spring force on front wheel, so I chickened out in trying that one. Now I'm considering a nicer B&M but I would need a rear wheel generator mount, since all of the fixtures are for other style front brakes with fixtures on forks.

The only thing I see on web are a few people who say they broke spokes when generators come loose. Don't know if propoganda or not, but don't see anything else. At the least, it may be effective propoganda.

Above link is Peter Whites site B&M rear generator mount fixture, but looks similar to fixture holders I've seen elsewhere. I especially want to see how installed on rear of bike (RS B&M Generator for Left Rear postition).

But before I try and figure out how to make it work, I'd like some expert advice on if its worth it or not. I know some valued projects are not profitable for vendors, so it is erased from Google or hidden behind layers of minutia. Its very hard to tell without allot of research, but at least I narrowed it down to two likely reasons.

Maybe another battery light of different wave lengths would be better or at least more feasible. I just don't want to get tied up in a losing project that's just going to cost allot and break spokes eventually.

Thanks,
