In the late 90's, I purchased the 28th Masi Gran Criterium made in the US from an eBay auction. Prior to my bidding, I had a lenghty phone conversation with the seller regarding some of the components and details of the frame. The frame was sans decals and was painted rattle can brick red. I provided the seller with some useful information regarding his offering and he volunteered to throw in some unmentioned bonus goodies if I was the high bidder.
Turns out I was the high bidder at $550. The seller's bonus goodies included an early 80's Raleigh with mostly Super Record gear, a pair of Cobalto brakes, and also a NOS Super Record seatpost. I quickly sold the Raleigh on eBay for $450, and several years later sold the Cobaltos & seatpost.
I've often referred to that bike as my priceless Masi.
