Both makers did a lot of rebranded production in the 70s and 80's. My SEKAI 2500 with the Sekai Deluxe 27x1 1/8 tires (290 grams) probably were Panaracer ~ the equivalent of Paselas, the weights matched my SEKAI tires (recommended in Bicycling! magazine 1977.)
I bought some 27x1 paselas for my paramount / sekai restoration. Only panaracer makes 27x1 tires these days, and they have gumwall sides! GET THEM WHILE THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE!! Kudos to Sheldon for carrying Paselas in 27x1, they are hard to find, 270 grams, wired-on, FAST tires.
