When I read the title of the post, my first spontaneous answer was going to be that all the members of the De Rosa family are already spoken for, so I believe trying to date one of them would be out of the question. I then read the complete post by Kevin which reads as follows:

"I will be selling a Campy NR equipped De Rosa soon but would like to know its age. I was under the impression it was late 70's but a shop customer thinks it is 80's. It is built with Columbus SLX tubing and has a decal on the top tube that says "Trophee Super Prestige Arc en Ciel" and then Eddy Merckx. All the equipment is Campy SR with the exception of Modolo Brakes and levers. I have been unable to find a serial number anywhere on the frame.

Any help would be appreciated. I will be posting to this list first "

SLX tubing was not readily available until the mid-80's so the bike is not strictly CR specific. Combining SLX tubing with Super Record gruppo, my guess is then limited to about 1984-87. Given the equipment and frame maker, I would however expect that it would be considered KOF, so perhaps exempt from the off-limit nature.

What suprises me however is why you would write that you are going to post to the list first and then when I go on ebay, I see the following listing: http://ebay.com/<blah> 8304175

What is up?

Steven Maasland Moorestown, NJ USA

before it goes on ebay.
