As I recall, Motobecane began using a lot of Japanese components in the early 80's, which would have been about the time most French manufacturers began switching to English (AKA ISO) threading. So there is a good chance such a bike would have English threading. It would be all but certain that the FW and pedal thread would be English, but the BB and steerer threading were usually the last to be changed over, so you never know. An additional complication with Motobecane is that they used Swiss rather than French BB thread on quite a few models.
