True. I think that accounts for the relative ease with which one can still find Sugino Swiss threaded BB cups. On the other hand, the Swiss threading business can be especially diabolical because, like British threaded BBs, the fixed cup uses left hand threads.

So with a Motobecane (or some Peugeots and other French bikes) - unless the cups are marked - you test the adjustable cup first by installing a known French threaded piece. Then you work on the fixed cup, gently turning in both directions to determine what sort of threading is used. Have fun, Fred Rednor - Arlington, Virginia (USA)
