While we're on that subject, I have two Groene Leeuw jerseys, one LS, one SS, but I still don't know the origin of the name. It was my impression that Weil's was an English ale, while Groene Leeuw is "Green Lion" in flemish. But what product was named "Green Lion"? Was this a brand of ale? Why would an English brewer give their ale a Flemish name? Or was Weil's Flemish rather than English?

There's a long standing belief that green bikes (and motorcycles and race cars, with the exception of BRG) are to be avoided like peanuts in pit lane or bananas on fishing boats. A question for the historians out there: other than Wiel's Groene Leeuw, who HAD to be green, have there ever been any pro teams with green livery?
