I got some a dat white stuff at least 4 years ago, so the change hasn't been recently sudden. I've found that the new formula Profide is in fact less waxy and penetrates more easily. I use it on the underside of the saddle to seal the leather from water. I believe: soft ass, hard saddle; hard ass, soft saddle.
