It paused raining long enough to try out my new 14-28 Shimano twist tooth FW, replacing a 13-21 Regina BX. Never having run anything larger than a 23 cog, I expected problems. Without changing the dropout screws, keeping the same Regina Oro chain, not as much as readjusting the limit stop screws, I gave it a test ride and to my utter amazement the thing shifts beautifully! No hesitations, no funny noises, it seems to shift across all the cogs happily.
Then the rain started pouring down again. So far, so good.
