Subject: [CR]Frozen Campagnolo Adjusters

I have a pair of campagnolo brakes and both the adjusters are frozen at the top of the barrel adjuster. This is surprising to me and the person who sold them to me is willing to take them back. they sat in a bikeshop parts bin for many years, and are early 1980's recessed-mounted record brakes.

Since the adjusting nuts have no rifling and are not really nuts at all i am wondering what techniques you would try to get them un-stuck?? In particular, how do you get leverage to turn these crazy circular things??

I have tried putting them under hot running water with little effect. I sprayed them with WD-40 which made the o-ring move around really easily. After removing the O-ring I tried clamping them in the nylon jaws of a panavise but they just slipped out when i put M6 2 hex nuts on the barrel and tried to turn it.

Since I am potentially going to return these i am limited as to the amount of force i can apply to get them un-stuck.
