Don Gillies is visiting Orlando from San Diego this weekend for a business convention. I picked him up at his hotel this morning, came to the house where we outfitted him with a bike. Don and I then joined listmember Ron Edmiston for a ride in light fog through our neighborhoods. The Arnold Palmer Invitational (formerly Bay Hill Invitational) golf tournament begins this week and we rode past all the tournament activity and the club house. This is a very pretty time of the year in central Florida and the course grass it at its greenest just before the tournament. Ron showed up with his latest plastic bike that tips the scale at just over 14 pounds!! Don rode my McReynolds. We didn't go for a long ride, but had a nice conversation. It's always nice to meet people from the list who you only know from their posts. Don provided interesting commentary on his Carlton Raleigh collection. He has a 1974 catalog and has collected all or most of the models from that catalog. I found that to be a very interesting way of targeting the bikes to acquire. Lou Deeter, Orlando FL
