Subject: [CR]NAHBS 2007 One week later

It has taken me a week to recover from the pre NAHBS preparations, and recover from the 3 day show.

My reactions:

First Don Walker did a fantastic job!!

There were many extremely creative bikes presented, even more than last year. The large # of extended bikes showed what one can do on a bike and eliminate some of our car usage.

I was humbled and honored to be chosen "Best of Show" in a vote of the exhibiters.

I'm sorry if I looked less than pleased at the awards. It was not because I was not proud, it was because I was really sick, and had lost my voice. All I was thinking about was getting the bikes packed up and getting home and sleeping in my own bed. Getting old I guess.

The NAHBS shows are unlike anything I have been to in my 33 years of building. I hope Don can continue so the cycling public can see the creative work being done by the small framebuilders of the world.

It was really fun putting together the display of my personal collection of bikes, a lot of work though. I hope people enjoyed seeing all my old bikes.

Regards,

Bruce Gordon
