much later than steven's bike that was recently discussed, but did anyone see this?:
an odd mix of eras... the serial number would indicate that it's a 1982. it has the holes in the lugs, 26.2mm seatpost diameter, and no indents for flying-c buttons over the seat binder, which are common to the post-cino, pre-1984-ish SC. on the other hand, it has chromed stays and the flying-c logo on the fork crown, which are typical of a later bike. furthering the mystery, it has holes for a portacatena, aero-style shifter mounts, and a fully-chromed fork, which i think unusual for any SC.
the sellers says it's an SC, and that it hasn't been repainted, so i'll assume for the moment that these features are original. is this a distinct model, or is it another example of using up whatever's around the shop, like the untapped oiler on steven's bb? or maybe it's some sort of pre-laser with those top-mount shifters?
hoping yahoo mail doesn't corrupt this message,
