Sheldon: When I was working on cruiser bikes many moons ago, we did the following, crank on or off the bike Heat the crank with a torch, bend out nice and straight to the desired distance, and let cool. Then heat above it to make your "elbow/curve" and straighten up to parallel and voila, when cool you have your custome curved crank. The stuff is easy to bend and if you feel the need to compensate for loss of length, put shim in shoe or under cleat and raise seat. Seat height and leg reach back in place! That's the way we bent cranks in the olden days to make room for a chainguard on the cranks that had too little distance between chainwheel and crank, before the cranks all came to dimension accordingly. Nobody gave a hoot about people who needed medical help years ago. We gave 'em a fair trial, then took 'em out in a field and shot 'em. Times were tough on the frontier years ago. Compassionate conservatism in action. Alas history repeats itself. Time to go for my bike ride, see youse.
