I have heard of a product called "frame saver". It's sold in aerosal cans with a straw included, so that the solution can be injected into the small holes found in frame tubes. Remember that a frame receives a protective coating of paint on the outside, but there is no protection for the inside of each tube. Therefore, the rust begins it's relentless efforts from the inside. Eventually if left to run it's course, a rust blister will form on the exterior. How sad this would be, as the frame is now basically dangerous to ride.
