Subject: [CR]CIOCC with 'barley twist' main tubes

I have recently aquired a Ciocc. I dont know the year, it maybe off- topic chronlogically - but it certainly isn't off -topic spiritually.

It is a pretty steel, steel lugged frame made from what a seat tube badge refers to as Speed-tec ST tubing - the top, seat and down tubes are plain where they meet the lugs

but for the remainder of their length carry gentle grooves. They are about the same depth as pre-Genius 'crimped' Colnago tubes, but instead of being impressed straight along the tubes, they spiral

around them.

Grateful for any information from any Cioccisti out there.

No this is not an April fool posting!
