Subject: [CR]For sale; 1954 Hetchins Magum Opus frame & fork. 21&3/4"

For sale; A very nice Hetchins Magnum Opus Phase Two frame & fork, serial number H25482, size 21&3/4" measured center to center with a 22" CC top tube with Vibrant or Curly rear stay, desirable double plate fork crown, period correct Agrati dropouts, takes an internal headset and typical of early Hetchins there are no shift bosses on the frame or rear derailleur dropout. Sold in May of 1954 to C.H. Atkinson of Leicester, U.K. The year of production has been verified with Len Ingram of the VCC who holds all current Hetchins records. Colour is silver with red lug lining, and red panels on the down & seat tubes. The enamel was resprayed before my purchase from a U.K. seller last year. There is some orange peal under the new enamel on the right rear dropout. It appear to have had a rear derailleur hangar brazed on at one time as there are file marks on the dropout where one would have been, but the dropout is still in very fine useable condition. There is no head badge mounted to the frame, but I've a very nice headbadge that will be supplied with the frame. Asking price is $1250.00 shipped. Close up jpgs are available.
