This is a tuff position to be in. You're not happy and paid a fair price to have the work done. This kind of thing can happen in a lot of areas. It just happened to me with an architect designing a house it cost me a lot more money but was due to not being pedantic about the details. Form now on I hope to cover even the most fundamental of bases with someone doing work for me. Like I want see the color before you spray it and how do you intend to attach the badge. Have you spoken to the painter about the problem and asked what he will do to make you happy?
