This is the time that many are scrambling to find a place to stay for the upcoming Cirque, so I want to give a brief overview...
The closest place is The Battleground Inn, but it has essentially been booked solid from the moment they started accepting reservations last year. They also do not have a sophisticated system for reservations so routinely fudge things up and sometimes do not have the promised rooms in the final crunch. Very frustrating...
So, the next alternatives are expensive: The O'Henry Hotel is very nearby but expensive.
After that, the next closest and most bikeable is one choice, I do not have on the web site.. The down town Marriott, it's a nicer, big place, good for a person flying in and wanting to cycle to & fro.. Rooms are available there via Expedia right now for $109 nite. They do charge extra to park cars though. :(

After that, there are many places along Interstate 40, all of which involve a 5-8 minute drive. I recommend those right at Wendover Ave & I-40 and then High Point Road & I-40. Most of those are reliably clean & safe (!)
