more of a Classic bike swap meet, over a vintage lightweight swap meet, but there will be lightweights there. Sam from Baltimore, and many others bring out cool bikes for sale and to trade, usually for money.

We go out there to buy basic 10 speeds and other city bikes for the shop to sell to college kids but occasional good stuff does turn up. We are really looking for basic alloy wheeled road bikes, doesn't have to be a Raleigh Professional or Paramount, just something to keep college kids from having to drive cars here in Philly. there is enough cars here as it is. So if you come with something for me to buy, just search out the minivan with the wooden frame attached to the top of it.

Last year we bought matching Team Schwinn Paramounts from the original Schwinn sponsored owner. The road frame was set up as a fixed gear and the track frame had derailleurs and brakes on it. Another person had a 1950s track Paramount we also came home with. bunch of small do-dads and thing-a-ma-bobs could be had. Frejus or a legnano is usually sited once a year out there for sale. Never know what is going to turn up.

here is the details about the swap from the organizer- "Memory Lane Classic's Spring Swap Meet. Official show dates are Friday April 27th, and half day Saturday April 28th. No need to pre-register for vending, as we will make room for all! Free admission/parking for shoppers. Food on the premisis Friday and Saturday, with the wonderful antique river town of Grand Rapids just a bike ride away for additional needs. Extended shop hours on Friday, and for as long as needed on Saturday. click on this map, and plot out directions and accomodations for yourself." http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&gid1=1...41.408843&mag=3

then there is Ann Arbor in Michigan on Sunday. A ton more bikes, also dealing heavily on heavy bikes, but some cool stuff also turns up there.

On a separate note, I now have my 2nd brevette out of the way(300k) on the road to PBP. My Jack Taylor weighs more than almost every bike out on these rides, there was a tandem riding too, but it rides so comfortable, the hours just fly by!
