Dear Dierix:

No fork with this bike frame?

Of course it's a very early 1970s or maybe even late 1960s Colnago. Water bottle mounts are later add ons, and bb guides could be too. It likely had no braze-ons at all. I would say it is a very desirable Colnago, early and more rare. If you had the correct fork, it would be worth more than a Gios to many collectors!

Also, you need to sign your posts with first & last name AND city and country. (It's a rule!)

Thanks Dale

Hello,

first time for me to post a question here. So a little introduction first, I'm a vet surgeon and in my spare time I help in a friends bicycle shop. And so I come across some lovely/strange findings. (I'm also the 'middleman from Europe' Tam got his de rosa frame from.)

now to the subject : We' ve got a gios torino as a trade in but I suspect it is an early colnago frame that has been resprayed in the seventies during the 'Brooklyn-Roger de Vlaeminck' era.

I've put some pics on my flickr page. Could any of you help me identifying and dating this bicycle?

If bigger pics are needed just ask and I'll send some over.

many thanks,
